For more than 30 years, native San Franciscan Laura Larkin's unique designs have graced luxury homes throughout the Bay Area and across the country. She creates custom high-end designs with classic, timeless elements for homes of all styles from contemporary to cottage to traditional.

Laura’s designs incorporate new and treasured pieces, creating beautiful settings for living that go beyond her clients’ imaginations but stay well within their taste. She loves creating rooms that relax and refresh and believes it is absolutely possible for function, beauty and comfort to co-exist in a single space.

Her method is simple: “I listen and observe. I don’t bring preconceived notions to a project. I want each space to be fresh, unique and timeless. I have four children and grew up in a large family, so I create rooms that allow life to unfold within them.”

We noticed Laura's decorating skills after seeing one of her rooms in a Showcase Home tour in Marin.  Over about six months we met often and she did a lot of extra effort to help us introduce interesting furnishings inside a home where we rigidly controlled some dramatic wall colors that framed dramatic SF Bay views.  Our approach was not typical because most rooms end up being fairly neutral and the furnishings stand on their own and dominate the color scheme and style.  But Laura was flexible and sensitive and did a terrific job in identifying furnishings and window treatments that worked with our colors.  We hesitated initially on some of her furnishing selections, but learned over time her judgement was far better and enduring than ours.  We love the result. We have a lot of confidence in Laura and recommend her highly.  She really puts the client first and helps them refine their preferences.
